Peace Ambassador for Peace Collective
In March 2019, I was chosen to become a Peace Ambassador for the Peace Collective platform. Peace Collective is a brand that embraces what it means to be Canadian. More than that, they believe in giving the others the resources and support to reach their goals. With every item bought, Peace Collective provides a child with 5 school meals, giving them the nutrition and energy needed to go to school and build a bright future. I was absolutely thrilled to be chosen as an ambassador, not only because I love their merchandise, but because I have a great passion for helping others and their mission is something I will always support.
In July 2018, Google revealed their personalized Live Cases for their Google Pixel phones. The cases featured designs by Google as well as designs and photographs by other artists found on Unsplash. I received an email informing me that my photo of Grey Whale Cove in Pacifica, CA was chosen by Google to be featured on their “Beach Escapes” collection of cases. These cases also came with a code that can be scanned by the code to give the user access to a free wallpaper of the same photograph. As a thank you, Google sent me my own free Google Pixel case with my photograph. Even though I don’t own a Pixel phone, this was a very big accomplishment and will always be a great token of my work.
Imagine browsing through Spotify, Apple Music, etc., checking up on your favourite artists, and then seeing a very familiar picture for the cover of a single. Not only that, but your own hand! While browsing Thomas Gold, a German DJ I’ve long been listening to, I noticed that his new single used my photo for the cover. I was shocked, honoured and flattered all at once. This was definitely the best definition I could give of a “happy accident”.
Getting notifications on Instagram is one thing, but getting a notification that you’ve been tagged by the verified instagram account of Air Canada is just crazy! I was so happy to see my picture of the CN Tower in the fall being used on their account to showcase the beauty of Canada in the fall and encourage travel to this wonderful city. A true honour!
